A Black Midget...I Mean a Little Black Person
Midgets really hate the word Midget, and consider it to be equivalent to a racial slur. Uh, last time I checked, we don’t call midgets black midgets. Even if we did, it’s not like we call them n*gga midgets. That would be a racial slur. Midgets are just a different class of human being, like babies, or alcoholics. Babies are awesome, and so are midgets, but when they start thinking they have rights like the rest of us, well something just doesn’t sit right with me. No, I’m just joking…but seriously, banning the word midget will just make people want to say it more. Midget midget midget midget midget….midget.

“Little people are calling on the Federal Communications Commission to ban the use of the word “midget” on broadcast TV. The group Little People of America said Sunday the word is just as offensive as racial slurs.
The request was prompted by an April episode of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice that the group said was demeaning.
In the episode, contestants created a detergent ad called “Jesse James and the Midgets.” The contestants, including Joan Rivers, suggested bathing little people in the detergent and hanging them to dry.”
In all honesty, I don’t think the term ‘little people’ is any better. If they want to be treated with respect and equality, then I suggest they pick a name that doesn’t impute feelings of inadequacy, like the word midget. Or maybe stop being midgets. There, problem solved.
The only reason why they are making a sink is for money.
Where does it stop with the censorship? Pretty soon, saying just ANYTHING to anyone will be deemed as “offensive”. The people in this country have gotten so thin skinned it’s sickening.
First, my Father is a Midget. Second, I agree with Ace. And I love my dad! He feels the same way, that Americans are being forced to candy coat things that are simple fact. Words are not bad or good, it’s the intent with which they are used that cause emotional injury to others. As far as comedy is concerned, irreverent and risque dialogue or commentary will always be funny. It’s human nature and that small (no pun intended) group of people that cannot find humor in themselves or the human condition have no right to impose limitations on the free speech of others. When people stop making a giant (should I not use the word giant?)fuss over petty things, the problem will solve itself.
Google `little people` and you will get sites and pictures relating to babies and toddlers. awhile I agree the term `midget` can be ofensive, I think this says it all.
